Real Madrid have been looking for potential suitors for Gareth Bale for the longest time. Ever since the Welshman’s loan deal with Tottenham expired, the club has been looking to sell him so that they can finally let go of his hefty salary. That kind of wage was worth it when Gareth Bale was performing well for Real Madrid, but now, since he has declined with time, the amount of money he earns doesn’t sync with his production on the field.

The best hope for Real Madrid was for Tottenham to take him back either on loan, or on a permanent transfer. That way, Real Madrid would only have had to give half the salary at most, and Bale would’ve been able to play at the top level for another year.

But, as Nuno Espirito Santo said on Friday, that will not be happening. Tottenham will not sign him for another season.

Gareth Bale will not return to Spurs, and will see out his contract with Real Madrid

I think a move to the Premier League for Gareth would’ve been the best for all parties involved. It would take Bale off the payroll for Real Madrid. The Welshman would get to play in a league that suits his style a little more, and Tottenham will have some crucial goals off the bench. Gareth Bale scored 16 goals for them in just over 1665 minutes, and that could’ve helped them out, especially if Harry Kane decides to leave this summer.

Plus, this leaves an additional problem for Real Madrid. Since Gareth Bale is being considered a non-EU player, he will take up one of those spots, meaning that Real Madrid won’t be able to register one of Vinicius, Rodrygo and Militao in the first-team squad.

That’s definitely a problem Real Madrid will have to deal with if Bale chooses to stay, which is looking likely. He will probably see his contract out and then look for different challenges next season.

But, if Bale is going to be at Madrid for another season, Ancelotti might just try him out and see if he can score a bunch of goals to help the team. At this point, it really doesn’t matter if Bale’s relationship with the club is amazing or not. They’ll take all the help they can in terms of goalscoring, that’s for sure. Hopefully, Gareth Bale can close this chapter on a high note.
