Real Madrid: Three things Florentino Pérez must rectify
By Hasan Karim
2. Be effective in the market:
Atlético Madrid have already begun to make an impact within the market, signing Rodrigo de Paul for a bargain €35 million, Barcelona even with their financial issues have shipped out plenty of players who were not seen as useful in favour of investments. Real Madrid need to do the same, the squad is littered with players who do not perform.
The likes of Mariano, Isco, Vallejo and many more are simply not what Real need and can be sold, with the funds being put to better use. The club has not majorly altered the squad since the summer of 2019, and since then, they have lost significant figures both on and off the field.
This cannot continue, the squad is in clear need of change. As seen by both their rivals, there is value in the market and there are ways to clear up funds to fix the issues. Pérez and Co cannot remain in this ineffective state of slumber for yet another window. Otherwise, they will be setting up Ancelotti for what will look to be an inevitable failure and another wasted season.
Deals are there to be had, clubs are in positions where they sometimes have to accept deals they may not necessarily like. If Real can be ruthless and efficient, there is no reason as to why they cannot land a signing of significance and refresh the team.
