NIKOLA MAKSIMOVIC

Nikola Maksimovic is a free agent as well having been released by Napoli at the end of his contract last month. The main reason why he left the Serie A side was because he was not being paid the kind of money he was looking for. But at the cusp of the season’s kick-off, Maksimovic finds himself in a tight spot as he is yet to agree to a deal with any club in Europe’s top five leagues.

The Serbian could be snapped upon by Real Madrid. He has a very minimal amount of bargaining power given his status of free agency and could be signed on a very affordable wage. At 29 years of age, Maksimovic is approaching the prime playing days of his career and is without a doubt a better option to have in the squad than either Jesus Vallejo or Victor Chust.

Maksimovic’s presence in the squad could also be beneficial for off-field matters as it could help Luka Jovic settle better in the city of Madrid and at Real Madrid itself. The striker’s lack of knowledge regarding the Spanish language has made it difficult for him to communicate with most teammates, but the signing of Maksimovic could make him a happier figure in the team.
