Real Madrid spent 60 million euros in the summer of 2019 to get Luka Jovic on board from Eintracht Frankfurt after a stellar individual campaign. Jovic scored 27 goals for the Eagles that season and was a signing that Zinedine Zidane insisted on which was finally delivered.

After a season and a half at the Spanish capital along with a six-month loan at Frankfurt, Jovic still continues to face an uncertain future at Real Madrid. According to Marca, the Serbian could reportedly be sold this summer as the club is open to the idea of parting ways with him for the right sum.

Recently, Jovic spoke about his future stating: “I didn’t join Real Madrid by an accident, I believe in my qualities. I haven’t talked to Ancelotti about my future yet, but I’ll give my all – a new opportunity awaits me.”

The 23-year-old still remains confident that he can make it at Madrid and wants to prove his point under his new boss, Carlo Ancelotti. While Jovic may want to continue, the club has other plans which could see him depart this summer in an attempt to raise funds to sign Kylian Mbappe.

So should Real Madrid sell Luka Jovic this summer transfer window?

No, Los Blancos should give Jovic another season to prove his worth after he barely received regular minutes under Zinedine Zidane to settle down. Karim Benzema will continue to remain the first choice striker but Ancelotti could give Luka Jovic a few chances now and then to make his mark.

He is on a contract until 2025 and parting ways now would be a little too early, in my opinion. Carlo Ancelotti wants to address the attacking woes at the club and Jovic could be an excellent option for the Italian off the bench.
