After Cristiano Ronaldo departed the club, many expected Bale to take up the mantle as the talisman of Real Madrid. However, in the subsequent season, Bale was immensely disappointing.

The Welshman has returned to Real Madrid again. While the club would like to let go of Bale this summer, his 30 million euro salary is proving overwhelming for other clubs. Therefore, this may be his final season with Los Blancos.
