MARTIN ODEGAARD

Martin Odegaard’s future at Real Madrid continues to remain uncertain after rumours were linking him with a return to Arsenal. The 22-year-old is reportedly keen on leaving the club in search of game time due to the intense competition at the Spanish capital. Real Madrid are not holding Martin Odegaard back and have set a 50 million euro price tag for his permanent sale.

While Los Blancos are open to the idea of parting ways, Carlo Ancelotti wants the Norwegian in his team. It’s a well-known fact that Ancelotti likes using the number 10 in his system. A player that can bridge the gap between the midfield and the striker.

Odegaard is someone who can operate in the tightest of places and dribble past opponents before unleashing a line-splitting pass. We’ve seen Ancelotti make the most out of Isco and James Rodriguez in the past and this time it could be Odegaard’s chance.

While Ancelotti has faith in the Norwegian, the question is whether the midfielder wants to stay and compete for a place in the eleven alongside the likes of Isco, Federico Valverde, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. In my opinion, Odegaard should stay and Carlo Ancelotti could possibly give him a more important role as compared to the one he received under Zinedine Zidane.
