Real Madrid Transfers: Erling Haaland may finally sign for the club in 2022
Erling Haaland is simply phenomenal. He’s easily one of the best strikers in the world right now and he isn’t even anywhere near his prime. He just keeps on getting better season after season. Haaland’s potential move to Real Madrid has been talked about by a number of journalists and reporters over the years, and it’s common knowledge that Real Madrid want to sign him eventually, even though their priority at the moment is signing Kylian Mbappe.
But, things move fast in football, as we have noticed this last week — with Messi’s shocking departure, Lukaku’s move to Chelsea — there’s something new every single day.
Well, according to reports, Erling Haaland really wants to play for Real Madrid as soon as possible, and all signs point towards that in 2022.

According to the report, Juni Calafat keeps close contact with Haaland and his family, and all signs point towards a move that will take place in the summer of 2022.
Haaland has a 75 million euro release clause in his contract with Borussia Dortmund that will be activated at the start of the 2022-23 season. Real Madrid will keep their eyes locked on both Mbappe and Haaland for the next two seasons.
It says in the report that Borussia Dortmund are simply not looking to sell the Norwegian international this summer, so the most ideal scenario for Real Madrid would be to sign Mbappe for free in 2022, along with paying the release clause for Haaland. It seems too good to be true, but at the same time, it’s a smart move that has a few risks attached to it.
Real Madrid are better off signing Mbappe this year, but that would require a lot of funds to be spent. Haaland’s signing would depend on whether they’ll have the funds left for him or not, but judging by how they haven’t spent a single penny on transfer fees in the last four transfer windows, I wouldn’t count it out.
