ANCELOTTI WILL BE DESPERATE TO WIN LALIGA THIS SEASON

In all fairness, Real Madrid are a far way from being favourites for the Champions League unless they manage to attain an incredibly high level of prowess in the matches towards the season’s business end, and also keep the squad fresh by rotating. Kylian Mbappe’s potential arrival will also make a massive difference in determining those odds, which shifts focus to LaLiga at least now.

Carlo Ancelotti, on a personal level, will also be very keen on winning the Spanish premiership in the upcoming campaign. In his first stint and first two seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, he came menacingly close to winning the title but it wasn’t to be, especially as the second ended in a very uncharacteristic manner despite it starting on a streak of 22 matches won in a row.

He has also won the other four major leagues in Europe. Ancelotti won the Premier League with Chelsea, Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain, Serie A with AC Milan, and Bundesliga with Bayern Munich. The LaLiga crown is a trophy that has eluded him so far in two full seasons in Spain, but he will be very keen on completing a very unique set of winning all top European leagues at least once.
