Erling Haaland’s agent drops an important hint amid Real Madrid interest

After a long summer transfer window where Real Madrid signed David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga, Los Blancos have now turned their attention towards planning a historic 2022 summer by signing two of the biggest stars in world football- Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

While this is certainly no easy task for any club in the world to pull off. Erling Haaland’s agent has dropped an important hint on his client’s future amid interest from the Spanish capital. Mino Raiola revealed in an interview that Haaland can possibly play alongside Mbappe ( Real Madrid’s main target for the summer of 2022).

As everyone knows, Real Madrid will approach Kylian Mbappe in January to sign him as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after failing to get the 22-year-old on board this time around. Since Raiola has hinted that Erling Haaland could play/be with Mbappe, it could also potentially mean that the two could unite at the Spanish capital (since Mbappe’s  free transfer next year looks inevitable now)

Could Haaland and Mbappe workout together at Real Madrid next season?

Let’s first look at it from a financial perspective, starting off with Kylian Mbappe’s signing. The 22-year-old’s contract expires next year in July, meaning that Madrid can effectively sign him on a pre-contractual agreement in January.

Since Mbappe’s transfer would be “free” in the books, Los Blancos could end up paying a huge amount of money in bonuses, commissions, and agent fees to get Mbappe on board next year.

Meanwhile, for Haaland, the Merengues would have to fight off Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City to get the Norwegian striker. His estimated release clause worth 75 million euros could potentially shoot up to 90 million euros next year, according to reports.

However, the transfer fee is not the issue with Erling Haaland. The stumbling block for Real Madrid would be getting the 21-year-old to agree to personal terms. The likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain can easily outdo Madrid’s contract given their financial status.

Haaland unlike Mbappe has now shown a particular affinity towards any club as the former has shown to Madrid. In my opinion, the 21-year-old will certainly leave Dortmund next season but it would be for the club that would give him the best contract.

The presence of Mino Raiola also makes the whole transfer quite complicated. The Italian super-agent has a reputation of being a tough negotiator who also demands a humongous commission as part of agent fees for any transfer. Raiola could push Haaland towards a club that would end up benefit both of them monetarily be it Real Madrid, PSG, or Manchester City.

But there is some hope now, especially after Raiola said that Mbappe and Haaland could end up playing together. Statements like these should not be taken too seriously either and only time will tell what’s in store for Haaland, Mbappe, and Real Madrid.
