Group B is not a difficult one

PSG have been one of the best teams in the world for years, and they actually eliminated long-time rivals Lyon in last year’s UWCL competition. It was one of the stories of the tournament, though PSG could not take advantage in the semifinals, losing to the new best team in the world, Real’s familiar foes FC Barcelona.

But while PSG are a juggernaut with the talent capable of actually winning this competition, Real Madrid’s other competitors in the group are totally unknown commodities that do not have the caliber of players at Real’s disposal.

So while Las Blancas cannot let their guards down, they are very much favored to finish as one of the top two teams in the group. In fact, if they did not qualify for the knockout stages, it would be just as big of an upset as it would be for the Real Madrid men’s team to fall behind the likes of Inter Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Moldova’s resident Sheriff.

PSG will be a great test for Real in this group before the knockout stages, because this team really should be able to take care of business against the other sides. Consider this a blessing, as Group A had all three of Juventus, Wolfsburg, and Chelsea, while Hoffenheim, Barcelona, and Arsenal help form a tough-looking Group C.
