Dani Ceballos

Dani Ceballos was signed from Real Betis in the summer of 2017 with a lot of expectations and the midfielder aimed to make it count at Real Madrid. Fast forward to 2021, Dani Ceballos has spent only two seasons at the club with the Andalusian limited to a bench role and had an average loan spell at Arsenal.

He does have a contract until 2023, but it clearly looks like the club doesn’t have him in their plans, and have always been open to the idea of selling him. He might be in his final season as a Real Madrid player, with reports strongly suggesting that Real Betis will re-sign Dani Ceballos on loan in the winter transfer window this season, which includes an obligation to buy the 25-year-old.

Ceballos was heavily determined to convince Carlo Ancelotti of his quality and take a shot at gaining an important role at Real Madrid. But his luck didn’t help his intentions, as an ankle injury suffered at the Olympics meant he has been out of action for almost a month and a half, with the midfielder not having returned to training yet.

And considering the signing of Eduardo Camavinga and the rise of Fede Valverde, it seems much more unlikely that Ceballos might find space in the team. There’s still a minor chance for a miracle to happen, but for that to happen Ceballos needs to recover from his injury first and look forward to winning over Ancelotti in the training session. By the looks of it, it is practically impossible and Ceballos might be counting his days as a Real Madrid player.
