Luka Jovic

The Serbian forward has been unfortunate, to say the least, during his time at Real Madrid. During the limited chances given to him, he has failed to convert his opportunities. Don’t get me wrong, he has shown promise and played well. He probably would have even scored a lot of goals if given continuity. But to his misfortune, he plays behind the man who has been carrying the team for the past three years. Real Madrid’s system has been highly dependent on Karim Benzema, especially under Zidane, where he was the lone offensive threat, for the most part.

It’s been almost impossible to drop the Frenchman from the 11, thus Jovic has struggled to find significant minutes. Needless to say, if Haaland arrives there will be no playing time for Luka Jovic. Hopefully, Ancelotti can get a promising season out of him to increase his market value. Since age is on his side, clubs will be willing to spend decent money on him if he performs.

The Serbian is also on a significant salary and his departure paired with Mariano’s could make up for Haaland’s possible wage. Jovic surely has a bright future ahead of him but it seems unlikely that it will be at Real Madrid.
