BALE, ISCO AND MARCELO’S FUTURE COULD BE DECIDED IN JANUARY

Gareth Bale, Isco and Marcelo have their contract running out next year in July. Bale is currently out nursing a significant hamstring injury that will keep him out of action until early November. It’s a pity, to be honest, Bale started the season off on a good note before it all plummeted down with an unfortunate injury.

Nevertheless, Gareth Bale’s time at Real Madrid is numbered and limited. His contract runs out next year in July, and it’s unlikely that the club would vouch for a renewal since their interests lie in Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe’s signing. In such a circumstance, Gareth Bale would have to figure out his future with Jonathan Barnett after Christmas and decide what’s in store for him next.

The same can be said about Isco and Marcelo. The former has been impressive under Carlo Ancelotti but is still far away from the player he once used to be. It looks almost impossible that the retro version of Isco could be restored. His contract runs out next summer as well and his future remains uncertain. A renewal seems unlikely so Isco would need to start looking at options this January onwards.

For Marcelo, he’s already fallen down the pecking order at the left-back position with Miguel Gutierrez being the second choice once Ferland Mendy recovers. Marcelo’s time at Madrid has run its course and I expect that the Brazilian would receive a grand farewell at the end of the season as a Real Madrid legend. He too would need to sort his future destination out in January.
