3. Cavani’s arrival would affect Jovic’s growth

Wouldn’t Edinson’s arrival affect Jovic’s growth? It would. Definitely. Cavani’s arrival will worsen Luka Jovic’s situation at Real Madrid. One of two things will happen. He will either be loaned out or kept as a third-choice striker (assuming that one of Marco Asensio or Mariano Diaz will leave).

If he is kept as a third-choice striker, then the game time he will receive will be equivalent to the game time received by Mariano Diaz at the moment i.e., Zero minutes. A player like Luka Jovic with such great talent to become world-class requires more minutes to flourish into the player he can be and being a third-choice striker would do him no good.

But if Ancelotti decides to send him away from the Spanish capital on a loan, then that is not going to help him much too irrespective of how much game time he receives. But why? Luka Jovic’s environment has been changed a lot of times. Different leagues with different clubs mold a player according to their different tactics or styles. Such regular switches in roles may hamper his performance in the future.

So, all he needs is stability at the moment, and the only way he will get that is by playing as he is at the moment.

Since he is playing great, I don’t see a point in loaning him out or in bringing in Edinson Cavani.
