Vinicius Jr is a gift that simply keeps on giving for Real Madrid. The 21-year-old has currently earned the status of a “superstar” in the squad, making it known to everyone involved that he is undroppable.

Vinicius has been Real Madrid’s second most effective player in the offense, after Karim Benzema. With nine goals and five assists in just 14 appearances across all competitions for the Merengues this term.

The former Flamengo forward has lived up to the promise that Carlo Ancelotti delivered at the start of the season. The Italian said that he would develop an attacking system that would take the burden off Karim Benzema’s shoulders while demanding more goals from players like Vinicius, Rodrygo, Luka Jovic etc.

While Benzema was Real Madrid’s only source of goals last season amongst the forwards, Ancelotti can now rely on Vinicius to step up in fixtures when Benzema cannot.

However, there is a huge disparity between Vinicius Jr’s current salary and his performances this season. Currently, only Jesus Vallejo and Andriy Lunin earn less than Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid.

While Vini certainly does earn a significantly lower salary than his teammates, the Brazilian was signed in 2018 as an 18-year-old teenager considered to be a prodigy. Nobody expected that he would turn out to be what he is today as a regular starter in the team this soon.

Vinicius Jr wants to stay at Real Madrid for a long time

Nonetheless, Real Madrid will certainly look to offer fresh terms to Vinicus Jr and extend his stay further at the Spanish capital. The 21-year-old is on contract with Los Blancos until the summer of 2025 but a fresh deal could be on the cards to improve his wages, along with further extending the length of his stay.

On the flipside, Vinicius remains completely focused on his football and is not bothered by his contract or wages as long as he continues playing for Real Madrid. The club he saw truly loves that every time he scores he points to the badge.

It’s rare in today’s world that we see such kind of loyalty in football. Players today tend to sway towards better contracts and higher wages. Gone are the days of players like Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas or Andreas Iniesta. But Vinicius Jr seems to be a different kind of player as compared to the modern generation. His love and passion for Madrid outweigh any sort of financial or monetary incentive.

"“Contract situation? I’m very calm, I want to stay and I don’t care how long my next contract will be or how much they will pay me. All that matters to me is the satisfaction of being at the best club in the world.”- MARCA."

Marca also states that Real Madrid are impressed with Vinicius’ performances and its impact on his market value. In return, Florentino Perez plans to shortly offer a “galactic” renewal to the player and his entourage.

There is no doubt that Vinicius would accept the deal as it’s clear as daylight. Real Madrid are now preparing to host Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League group stage fixture. Last time around, Carlo Ancelotti’s side picked up a 5-0 win at Kyiv with Vinicius Jr scoring a brace. Will the Brazilian be on the scoresheet once again and would he score Real Madrid’s 1000th UCL goal?
