Isco

Sometimes I have to keep reminding myself that Isco, who was considered to be one of the best in the world in 2018, is still a Real Madrid player because he hasn’t played a single minute for Real Madrid after the 25th of September this year. He has become a forgotten player at the club, and there isn’t surprising that his situation is like this.

His contract expires next summer, and Real Madrid would lose him for free, unless a January exit is possible, which is highly unlikely. Isco had a market value of 80 million euros in 2018, but he was seen as the centre of Real Madrid’s project post-Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit. It is highly unfortunate that Isco has become an ignored player now, though the blame is all on himself for not maintaining his fitness and not performing consistently.

There were never any concrete offers for Isco since 2020, given his situation with Zidane also losing patience with the Spaniard. But there was interest from Milan this summer, and Real Madrid expected to make 20 million from his sale, but there wasn’t any progress. Apparently, Milan are still eyeing a January move. But the transfer fee will be almost nominal and Madrid will only regret that they couldn’t cash in on a player who has been on the fringes for almost three seasons.
