It’s only a matter of months before Erling Haaland’s future unravels in the summer transfer market. The Norwegian international has been linked with several clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City as possible destinations for the striker next season.

Several reliable Spanish reporters including Mario Cortegana and RMadridistaReal have reported that Real Madrid want Erling Haaland to join forces with Kylian Mbappe in the attack at the new Santiago Bernabeu. Whilst the club’s priority is the signing of Mbappe, Los Blancos are also closely monitoring Haaland’s situation.

An Adidas sponsorship deal could give Real Madrid a boost in the Haaland transfer saga

According to AS’ Marco Ruiz, Real Madrid could receive an external boost in their pursuit to sign Erling Haaland if he signs a sponsorship deal with Adidas. The 21-year-old is currently not sponsored by any sports company after his contract with Nike expired at the start of 2022.

The Dortmund striker has an offer from Puma on his table worth 8 million euros a year, which is also considered to be an attempt to keep Haaland in the Bundesliga for another season. Real Madrid’s main sponsor – Adidas – are reportedly in advanced stages over a possible sponsorship deal.

If Haaland does sign for Adidas, it should not be considered or labelled as a game-changer for Real Madrid in the race to sign to him. However, it should be looked at as more of a helping hand or an added boost to their pursuit.  It would be one more added factor for Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, there are reports that were published on transfer deadline day by BILD Sport that Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe have come to an agreement for a transfer at the end of the season.

Mbappe has five months left on his contract with PSG before he becomes a free agent and it is unlikely that he would extend terms with his current side including a short-term deal.

If the signing of the Frenchman is well and truly been completed, then the club could finally start properly pursuing Erling Haaland.

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to the Spanish capital next season is inevitable and one can only hope that Erling Haaland chooses the same pathway. The possible signing of both these world-class youngsters would set up Real Madrid’s frontline for the next decade along with Vinicius Jr who has catapulted to new heights this season under Carlo Ancelotti.
