Real Madrid, Barcelona keeping an eye on the best Erling Haaland alternative

With the season in its final few months and the summer transfer window inching closer and closer, the footballing world is rife with an immense amount of rumours and speculation. Agree or not, transfers are the most interesting and exciting topic to talk about. When you are a Real Madrid fan, the excitement multiplies tenfold because of the grandiose of the club.
There has been an extraordinary amount of buzz in the Spanish media regarding the arrival of Norwegian world-beater Erling Haaland to Spain. It has been reported that Barcelona have been trying to capture the signature of the Borussia Dortmund star, but it is Real Madrid and Manchester City leading the race to acquire Haaland’s services.
Given Manchester City’s financial pull and the absence of a proper striker, Erling Haaland might be favouring a move to the Etihad Stadium. If that happens, though, it seems like Real Madrid and Barcelona are already preparing for a backup.
That player is RB Salzburg’s German sensation Karim Adeyemi, whose talks with Borussia Dortmund seemed to have stalled. That comes from a report from AS’ Jose A. Chosas, who states that Real Madrid and Barcelona might take advantage of the situation.
RB Salzburg are demanding €42.5 million euros from Dortmund, who have been wanting to complete the transfer of one of the great talents of both Germany and Europe. It is all but confirmed that Erling Haaland will be on his way out of the Signal Iduna Park, which is why Dortmund want to get this deal done.

But, the stalling of talks between the German club and the 20-year old have given Real Madrid and Barcelona a clear signal. They don’t want to miss out on such a talent in case they fail to land Haaland’s signature, whose future is pretty much in the air at the moment.
Karim Adeyemi would be a fantastic purchase for Real Madrid in my opinion. Being only 20 years old, he can use the 2022-23 season to settle down, nailing down a starting spot in 2023-24. Signing for Real Madrid and playing alongside someone as brilliant as Karim Benzema will do a world of good for the Salzburg sensation, who has 19 goals and 4 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

Having earned a cap for the German senior national team, Adeyemi has a lot of admirers across Europe. Real Madrid should definitely go for the player in case Erling Haaland goes to Manchester City. But they will face stern competition from arch-rivals Barcelona, who recently edged out Los Blancos to the signing of another young talent in Pablo Torre.
