Real Madrid have done it. According to various reliable sources, they’ve finally signed Kylian Mbappe. In fact, they signed him on January 30 itself. MadridistaReal and Ramon Alvarez both reported it not too long ago, and the whole saga is said to be finished.

The fact that Mbappe turned down such lucrative deals from PSG makes it all so much better.

However, I know that no one will truly be satisfied until we see the “Official Announcement” tweet from Real Madrid.

Unfortunately, we’d have to wait for a little longer.

According to MadridistaReal’s full report on the transfer, Real Madrid will not be announcing the deal this season.

Real Madrid will not announce the Mbappe deal out of respect for PSG, even though they don’t deserve it

Real Madrid are obviously looking at various players, particularly Erling Haaland, who is also a tough buy considering Manchester City are currently leading the race to sign him. But, it’s fun to see at least one generational talent join Real.

He’s not just a generational talent, he is literally the best (or, at least, top two) player in the world. According to the report, Mbappe hasn’t changed his mind since the failed transfer saga in August. Clearly, he never saw renewing with PSG as an option. But, the club is choosing to not announce the deal until the season is over.

They’re not doing it out of respect for PSG and for Mbappe’s contract with the club. To be honest, the club doesn’t really even deserve the respect, but Real are probably doing the right thing, for Mbappe at least.

If the deal is announced now, Mbappe would have to face the media constantly about the transfer, and would probably face a lot of jeers from the fans of PSG. The league is still not over, and the club wants to win that, and Real announcing the signing before the season is over may have an effect on Mbappe individually.

PSG don’t deserve the respect considering the things they’ve done this season and so many times before this season. But, Real are putting the player first here. Proof that at least one team here thinks about the player’s sentiments.
