The transfer window is still several months away, however rumours about Real Madrid being linked to numerous players have already begun. While the signing of Kylian Mbappe has already been assumed, many other names have lately been connected to Real, and the drama of signing them still looks to have the thrill and intensity.

Erling Haaland is one of the talents Real have been monitoring for a while now, but the latest leads in the case suggest that the Spanish club may have lost him to Manchester City. However, there is another name from Borussia Dortmund on the list who may have caught the eye of Los Blancos.

The player from the Black and Yellow is none other than the youngster Jude Bellingham. The 18-year-old transferred from Birmingham City to Dortmund in 2020, and in the two years since, he has become a star and a regular source of admiration in football circles. There is no doubt about it: he is one of the top young players in the world right now.

Real Madrid are not the only club interested in Jude Bellingham

Real Madrid had been interested in signing Bellingham for some time, but according to football journalist Ramón Alvarez de Mon, Los Blancos’ interest in bringing the Englishman to the Bernabeu has accelerated in recent weeks.

Alvarez says that Borussia Dortmund is well aware of Real Madrid’s interest in the youngster and that scouts from the Spanish club are even observing Bellingham in training. The allure has grown so strong that they have approached his family in recent days and the contacts between the parties have paced up recently.

However, the aforementioned information should not raise your aspirations too high, since the youngster is being pursued by a number of other Premier League clubs. It is estimated that bringing Bellingham in would cost between 80 to 90 million euros, and numerous teams in the English Premier League, particularly Manchester City, would not hesitate to match or even exceed that figure.

Also, it is certain that Erling Haaland will leave Dortmund this summer; whether to Real Madrid or not is a question that will be answered in the coming weeks, and despite the German club’s excellent relationship with the La Liga leaders, they would be reluctant to sell two of their star players (Haaland and Bellingham) in the same transfer window.

As a consequence, while the news of Real Madrid’s interest in Bellingham is encouraging, it is still far from being regarded as a definite claim of him joining the Bernabeu.
