Real Madrid Castilla LB Miguel Gutierrez:

The most obvious one to be honest. If there is one player who has the most chance of getting promoted to the first team, it is none other than Miguel Gutierrez. The 20 year old Spaniard is the future of the club.

I have said this in all the articles I have written about Miguel Gutierrez, and I will say this again too- he deserves to be promoted to the first team. Had Marcelo left the club this season, he would definitely have been Ferland Mendy’s backup.

Miguel Gutierrez is a highly gifted player, and I see a future Marcelo in him. He is very young, and despite being not as good and strong as Ferland Mendy defensively, he is much better than the Frenchman in the attack.

The Spaniard is a serious contender to start games under Carlo Ancelotti next season and threaten Mendy for a regular starting spot. With Miguel Gutierrez in the squad, Real Madrid will not have to look elsewhere to find a backup for Mendy. Many people criticized the club for selling Sergio Reguilin and Theo Hernandez, but in my opinion, we got an even better technically gifted player
with us.

After some promising sparks near the end of last season, Miguel got more chances to prove himself under Carlo Ancelotti which he made the most of. He played quite a few games in the initial stages of the season but dropped down the pecking order because the Italian did not trust the Castilla product.

Miguel Gutierrez recently got a successful treatment of his Inflammatory Bowel Disease and he came out stronger to show the world how great a player he is. Since returning to the academy, he trained with the first team and has dropped some great consistent performances to show the club that he is too good to play for the Castilla team.

Miguel has played 15 games for Real Madrid Castilla this season and has been directly involved in 10 goals. He has scored 2 goals and assisted 8, averaging a goal or assist every 113 minutes. He scored a goal in the last game too but was disallowed even though it was totally legal.

For a left back, these numbers are insane. A player of this high quality should be promoted to the first team, and there should not be any question raised about the promotion of such a special young talent.

Apart from this, Antonio Blanco is another player with rumours for a possible promotion to the first team, but I think it is very unlikely with rumours of a potential transfer of Aurélien Tchouaméni to the Spanish Capital.
