Real Madrid Starting XI Prediction vs. Celta Vigo for LaLiga’s Matchday 30
Real Madrid will return to action in LaLiga this Saturday evening at Balaidos when they take on Celta Vigo, who have proven to be quite the challenge for the elite clubs in Spain over the years. Led by Iago Aspas, Celta are always tough customers, as they showed Real at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this season before an Eduardo Camavinga-inspired debut performance helped the Merengues pull away in the second half.
There is no doubt that Real Madrid need a strong performance on Matchday 30 of LaLiga, as they are coming off an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Barcelona in El Clasico.
Here is a look at the predicted starting XI for Los Blancos this Saturday in Galicia.
GK Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois is the obvious starter in goal. As long as he is healthy, the best goalkeeper in the world is not missing a game. Without him, Real Madrid could have lost by six or more against Barcelona on Matchday 29.
LB Ferland Mendy
It is important that Ferland Mendy returns to the starting XI. Real Madrid just are not the same with Nacho Fernandez at left back, even if he was spared embarrassment in the Champions League vs. PSG. Mendy has his limitations, but he is one of the best defensive fullbacks you will find in European football.
CB David Alaba
The new leader at the heart of the Madrid defense will be hoping for a more composed match from himself and his teammates. He will have a big battle in store against the likes of Iago Aspas and even Denis Suarez. David Alaba’s passing and willingness to put his body on the line will be key for Los Blancos.
CB Eder Militao
One of the best young center backs in the world, Eder Militao was clearly frazzled during Real’s woeful showing at the Bernabeu against Barcelona. On the road at Balaidos, Militao must be mistake-free against an opportunistic Celta side. If he plays to his level, Militao could wrap up another Man of the Match display.
RB Dani Carvajal
The microscope is squarely on Dani Carvajal, who was one of the most disappointing players on the pitch in two embarrassing big-game defeats. First he was roasted by Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League, and then he was roundly beaten by Ferran Torres against Barcelona. Carvajal has to prove he is not a finished right back. He really should produce a 7 out of 10 – or better – in Vigo this weekend.
