RW Marco Asensio

I’m going to be blunt in the case of Marco Asensio. I can only see him being sold this summer.

His contract is expiring next summer, and a decision has to be made this summer. If he doesn’t renew, he will have to be sold this summer. As per reports, the contract renewal talks between Real Madrid and Marco Asensio have stalled, and the Italian Journalist Matteo Moretto has reported that AC Milan is interested in signing the Mallorcan.

Asensio has scored 10 goals this season, but he hasn’t done a lot to prove that he deserves an extension and a pay raise. It makes sense for Asensio, who’s entering his prime, to ask for a pay raise, but it is equally sensible for the club to not give in to his demands, given that he won’t be a starter after Mbappe’s arrival, and will be a second-choice player.

Even Carlo Ancelotti seemed to be unsure about Asensio’s future, and Asensio should leave for another club, where he can spend his prime years as a starter.

Prediction – Asensio will be sold, possibly to Milan or the Premier League, on a transfer worth 30-35 million euros.

RW Rodrygo Goes

Rodrygo is the man of the moment at Real Madrid, playing a huge role in the comeback wins against Sevilla and Chelsea last week. He looks to be in great touch at the moment, but he has struggled to maintain this form throughout the season. This is one of the main reasons why I’ve been disappointed with Rodrygo’s performance this season, even though he has four goals and nine assists.

His end product and physicality have been a huge matter of concern during the season, and there have been a lot of games in which he has struggled physically. Another disappointing aspect has been his inability to replicate his great cameos as a sub while starting games. This did change against Osasuna, though, so hopefully he can build on it even more in the future.

I wanted to see Rodrygo go on loan to another club, where he can grow and work on these weaknesses without a lot of external pressure, but I don’t see him leaving Real Madrid. His role won’t be any bigger next season, but he will possibly accept his role and wait for every opportunity he gets, to prove his worth. I hope he improves more next season and works on his flaws.

Prediction – Rodrygo will stay at Real Madrid

RW Gareth Bale

Everyone knows that Gareth Bale will leave Real Madrid this summer, as his contract is finally expiring. There has been speculation about him possibly retiring, but the Welshman would look to continue playing at another club to prepare for the 2022 World Cup later this year. There isn’t any clarity regarding which might be his next destination, but there are some surprising reports which suggest that Gareth Bale wants to continue playing in Spain, as he’s happy with his life in Madrid. It is going to be interesting to see where he might end up, but I don’t think there’s any club in Spain that can afford him.

Prediction – Bale is leaving Real Madrid either way, and he might end up at a Premier League club
