Real Madrid are poised for their most active transfer window since summer 2019, and Madridistas have every reason to believe that it will be an even more successful period for the club. Kylian Mbappe is fully expected to sign, and the Merengues have already received the famous “Here We Go” for Chelsea center back Antonio Rudiger.
Though Erling Haaland may still have an outside shot at joining Madrid, the transfer target fans have their eyes on the most right now – well, besides Mbappe, given that move is not official yet – is Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Frenchman is having a sensational season in Ligue 1, establishing himself as the best up-and-coming defensive midfielder. He looks like the only Casemiro replacement in the 6 role, and while he would not be cheap, he should be a priority for Real Madrid.
And it seems like Tchouameni very much wants to join Real Madrid. He tweeted high praise for the quality of match the Merengues had against Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals, and that certainly caught the eye of Madridistas. But he also posted something praising Karim Benzema on Instagram at the end of the No. 9’s amazing quarterfinal hat trick at Stamford Bridge vs. Chelsea.
Real Madrid cannot mess up the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni
Clearly, Tchouameni has a great deal of admiration for Real Madrid and their players. That comes as no surprise. Real have the Ballon d’Or favorite in Benz and another one of the most prolific forwards in the world in the young Vinicius Jr. And midfield, the trio of Casemiro, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric remains the most revered in world football.
Tchouameni could create a legendary trio of his own with Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga, as those two current Madrid players have also been fantastic. This season specifically, Tchouameni has been even better than both of them, though, of course, we must mention that Camavinga is younger and that neither Fede nor Cama get the same opportunities as Tchou does with Monaco.
Real Madrid were able to sign Camavinga for less than they thought last summer, and the player was so enamored with Real that he took less money to join them than he would have made as a major upgrade in PSG’s midfield.

So Real can have a big advantage here to getting Tchouameni. They need to be serious about signing him. And if they are serious, they can land the best possible midfielder they can buy in this transfer window. With Tchouameni’s apparent interest in Los Blancos, this is a transfer Florentino Perez should not screw up.
