Eden Hazard

I’ll be honest, this is a name that saddens me to add to the list of players that should be sold. Eden Hazard arrived to the club at the top of his game after dazzling with Chelsea and helping them win the Europa League. He fulfilled a lifelong dream to play in the Spanish capital and everyone was ready for our newest ‘Galactico’ to show exactly what he was capable of.

The Belgian was already offered the right wing and all he had to do was keep doing everything he’s done over the course of his career. Nothing more, nothing less. Now we find ourselves here a few years later just hoping he does something. Anything.

Injuries have truly stained what was supposed to be a beautiful arrival to the club. He showed glimpses of brilliance prior to his first major injury at the club but since then, we haven’t seen anything from the Belgian signing. He has struggled to get minutes and whenever he finally did, he struggled to really do anything with it. In the meantime, his competition for the right wing in Vinicius Junior reached unimaginable heights and deservedly cemented his name in the starting eleven. Now, there doesn’t seem to be any way back for Hazard.

Under huge wages at the club, it will be a struggle to find a club ready to take on his demands. Maybe Real Madrid’s best option will be to do what they did with Gareth Bale last season and send him out on loan while paying a percentage of his wages? It remains to be seen what the club has in mind. Hazard will want to stay and try once again to prove that he was not a waste of money and effort by Florentino Perez but in the end, that is what he will be remembered as. Maybe a move to another club will be what he needs to shine once again.
