It’s a weird day for Real Madrid fans all over the world. To be honest, it’s been like that for a couple of days now. There were reports all over the web about Kylian Mbappe signing with Real Madrid a week or two ago. And now, it’s the complete opposite.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have lost the race for Kylian Mbappe. PSG and the player have an agreement to renew his contract, and it’s done. It’s also said that Mbappe himself called Florentino Perez to tell him that he’s staying with PSG.

Real Madrid will never try to sign Kylian Mbappe, not after all this

This is just my opinion. It wasn’t said by Romano, but I don’t think that after so much money, energy and time went into making sure that Mbappe joins Madrid only for him to say no, Perez would ever want to sign him again. He’d rather go for a cheaper alternative.

Fabrizio Romano mentions that although Mbappe’s dream club is Real Madrid and that he wants to play for the club someday, that won’t happen next season as Paris is his home. Well, I really don’t think it’s going to happen, just ever.

Mbappe has, quite frankly, disrespected Florentino Perez by giving him his word and then backing out like this. I know Mbappe’s mother said that the offers were similar, I don’t think for one second that is the case, because it’s been a very clear thing right from the start that PSG will offer Mbappe more money than Real Madrid.

Mbappe will have a lot of control when it’ll come to picking the next sporting director, next manager, and the players that join and leave the club.

But I am pretty sure he has lost his chance of ever playing for the club of his dreams. He has now rejected Real Madrid twice, I don’t think there’s going to be a third time now.

Look at how Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real: He left a club that was at the top of the world, winning Premier League titles and Champions League titles, to join a club that was struggling to make an impact similar to the one it had in previous years.

He did that because he loved Real Madrid and wanted to play for the club more than anything. I think Mbappe is a phenomenal player and he would’ve definitely helped Real Madrid achieve a lot, but I don’t want to see parallels between his and Ronaldo’s careers ever again.

There are players that Real Madrid should absolutely sign now that Mbappe is not joining, but I guess that’s a conversation for later.
