As Real Madrid move forward from Kylian Mbappe’s decision to stay with PSG, they are creating a list of potential alternatives to help the attack.
Madridistas have seen an interesting list of names linked to the club. The likes of Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane are established strikers linked to the Merengues, but we have also seen right wingers with one year left on their contracts as more realistic options, specifically Serge Gnabry and Riyad Mahrez.
One young player linked to Real Madrid who has been favored by fans for months? Christopher Nkunku. He may have even been offered to the Merengues in the past.
RB Leipzig don’t want to listen to offers for Christopher Nkunku
However, that does not appear to be the case now. According to Sky Sport’s Florian Plettenburg, via Madrid Xtra on Twitter, RB Leipzig have no interest in selling Nkunku this summer. This follows reporting from Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna that Leipzig will not sell the player to anyone.
Unlike some of his high-profile teammates, Nkunku has no release clause, and Leipzig have no reason to sell a player who is under contract through the 2023/24 season. Nkunku means everything to Leipzig as their star player and the Bundesliga Player of the Year, as he is the reason why they qualified for the Champions League after a poor start to the season and then won the DFB Pokal – their first ever trophy.
Nkunku is a world-class, versatile player who should be on Madrid’s radar. But unless if he puts serious pressure on Leipzig to sell him, he is untouchable. Based on how he has embraced his role in Leipzig, it would be a shock if he were to put them under any pressure to leave. He is a player who won’t move until his contract is close to running out.

That means Real Madrid must think of alternatives. Within the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich’s Gnabry looks like the most realistic option for the Merengues.
