While Real Madrid will have to trim the squad a little bit this summer with some sales, there are a couple of players on the fringes of the roster who have proven themselves useful over the final matches of the LaLiga and Champions League season.

Nobody improved their stock more than Dani Ceballos. After beginning the season as an afterthought who barely played and was seemingly guaranteed to be sold in the summer, Ceballos produce masterclasses against Osasuna and Espanyol in LaLiga to help secure the title. Then, he was quality off the bench in a Champions League Remontada for the ages.

Though a return to Real Betis remains a topic of discussion for the Spaniard with national team ambitions at the upcoming World Cup, Ceballos has clearly turned the narrative around.

The players don’t think Real Madrid could find someone like Dani Ceballos

According to a report from Sergio Santos of Relevo, the Real Madrid locker room is actually pushing the club to keep Ceballos around.

Their reasoning makes sense, too. Per Santos, the players are telling those working in the front office that the Merengue club would be unable to find a player like him either in terms of profile or quality on the transfer market this summer.

There is a further point I would like to make. If Ceballos were to be sold to a team where he could start, he would not fetch a high price. Based on what I have seen, Real Madrid would not be able to get more than 20 million euros for him.

Next. Real Madrid will still go after a world-class midfielder in 2023. dark

Considering how useful he was to important wins in securing the Champions League title, Ceballos is worth more to Real than just 20 million euros. On top of that, if he has another good season with Los Blancos after proving that he is good enough to get minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, his transfer value will increase, making a sale more profitable for Florentino Perez.
