The summer transfer window will officially kickstart on Friday, but clubs have already started working on transfers. Real Madrid has worked on some of the arrivals so far, but it is time for the club to focus on departures and renewals of key players before they look to buy some more players.

Gareth Bale and Isco have officially left the club as free agents, and Marcelo has announced his departure. The club needs to make room for new players by selling players who aren’t in their plans. And the club’s local rivals, Getafe, do seem to be interested in helping Real, as they are reportedly showing interest in signing three players owned by Real Madrid.

Getafe, who barely escaped relegation last season, have been linked to Mariano Diaz (reported by AS), Mario Gila (reported by Sergio Santos), and Jorge de Frutos. The Madrid-based club has also been linked to Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic, but the latest reports suggest that those rumours are false.

Getafe looking to sign these three players makes perfect sense

Getafe is a club that’s known for its highly physical approach to the game, and Mariano, who has finally made up his mind to leave Real Madrid, is a player who suits their philosophy. The Dominican-Spanish player is known for his aggressive pressing and habit of making his presence felt with frequent physical duels on the pitch, and this is something we often see from a striker who plays for Getafe.

The report from AS also states that Getafe prefer Mariano to Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic, who was previously linked to Getafe, and this does make a lot of sense.

Another player who has been linked to Getafe is Real Madrid Castilla’s centre-back, Mario Gila, whom the Azulones want to sign on loan. The Spaniard is a solid defender, who has impressed Carlo Ancelotti last summer in the pre-season and went on to make his first-team debut this season. A rock-solid defender like him would definitely do well at Getafe, and it would help him develop his gameplay.

The third player, Jorge de Frutos, isn’t a Real Madrid player, but Los Blancos hold 50% of his rights and will gain 50% from a possible transfer from Levante to Getafe. The 25-year-old, who was linked to the Merengues last summer, is a highly talented winger and following Levante’s relegation, he needed to move to a LaLiga club. This move would be very useful for him, and the wide player would definitely succeed at Levante.
