This is the only way Real Madrid will sign an attacker this summer
It’s pretty obvious, to be honest. Real Madrid have made two amazing signings this season, but it is as clear as day that they need to make a third one and sign a forward this summer. They need someone competent other than Rodrygo that could challenge for the third spot, and give some decent production.
Marco Asensio is a shadow of the player he once was, and the club knows it can no longer rely on him for consistent production from the wing. Actually, I am pretty sure they want him sold, which is what makes it all interesting.
According to Sergio Valentin, the only way Real Madrid will sign a forward is if Marco Asensio leaves the club. They’re waiting for his decision. They’d only go for a European forward, if so, due to the lack of non-EU spots at the club.
Marco Asensio does not have a future at Real Madrid, which is why he needs to leave
Well, it’s pretty obvious why Asensio doesn’t have a future at Real. I’ve talked about it multiple times, other writers on this site and on other sites have talked about why Asensio needs to move so that he can get his career moving forward, and it’s also obvious that it will help Real Madrid as well.
They’ll get some money out of his sale, save the wages they currently owe to him, and open up a roster spot for them to sign a forward.
It’s interesting, though. Mario Cortegana talked about it recently, and he mentioned that he thinks Asensio will leave the club as Jorge Mendes is shopping him to various clubs.
There may not be any renewal offer from Real Madrid, so it would make sense for Asensio to leave. Now, if you put two and two together, you’d understand that not all hope is lost for Real to actually sign a forward.
There are a number of players they can sign. I’d love to see Serge Gnabry here, obviously, but players like Bernardo Silva, should they choose to leave, would be very interesting options as well.

It all depends on Asensio now, and I hope he leaves the club this summer, and I am not just speaking from the perspective of Real. It would help Asensio a lot since it’s a world cup year, and he’d get more minutes elsewhere than he would at Real.
Just a thought, Marco.
