Having the best player in the world does not necessarily mean there would be no competent replacement for him. It doesn’t even have to be a very young player, and according to this report, Real Madrid agree with my point of view.
According to Cardena SER, Real Madrid will look in the market for a striker if two of Mayoral, Asensio and Mariano leave. Real Madrid are already finalising Mayoral’s sale, it’s a matter of time, and it seems like they are trying to sell Mariano as well.
They’ve also decided the kind of striker they’ll be in the market for. According to the report, they are in the market for strikers around 30 years old, who can come off the bench and score 10-12 goals a season.
This kind of striker would be perfect for this Real Madrid team
To be honest, all this team really needs is a presence off the bench, if Rodrygo is able to make the RW spot his own. If they can get a striker that would not mind playing off the bench, that’d be great.
That’s actually the perfect striker because, they won’t really ask for a big role if they know they’re going to play off the bench, they won’t get cold because of their experience, and they’re not really going to want minutes to develop like a young striker would.
I’ve mentioned it before. Edin Dzeko would be a great option, but he won’t really be the only player that’ll be perfect for this role. Luis Muriel is also a good option and fits the whole profile.
