4. Paris Saint-Germain

If you want to know how terrible fate can be, go no further than Paris Saint-Germain. The French club has tried all in its power to win the coveted Champions League just once in its history, but something always seems to derail their plans.

Unlike last season, PSG will not have to check many boxes before lifting the title. In addition to Neymar Jr., who has recently had one of his greatest starts to a season, the club has begun to play more cohesively and Lionel Messi, the shock of last season, appears to have fully anchored in the Parisian colours.

The arrival of Christophe Galtier has had an immediate good influence owing to the fresh tactics the French brain brings to the table. It remains to be seen how far he takes this wonder team, but he appears to be a major improvement from the previous man in command, Mauricio Pochettino.

However, the number of pitfalls is limited but not zero. The squad is still missing a leader in the locker room who can give the much-needed voice and expertise on this coveted platform. Sergio Ramos is one such player who, if he can avoid injuries, may fill the vacancy.

With greater stability than fifth-placed Barcelona but a fair amount of difficulties to overcome, Paris Saint-Germain is one of the favourites to win the Champions League, although the list is much longer ahead.
