Real Madrid face RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday in a bid to make it three wins out of three in the competition. Leipzig are a very tough team and certainly won't be pushovers on the night, which is why Real Madrid would need to field a strong starting eleven despite having an eye on the Barcelona clash later this week.

They are certainly required to have big performances on the night. Judging by how similar Leipzig's style of play is to Barcelona's in some areas, this is a good test for Jose Mourinho's team to see what they are capable of.

3 non-negotiable starters for Real Madrid for their Champions League clash vs Leipzig

Yan Diomande

Yan Diomande had an amazing performance against Sevilla on the weekend, and he would love to get the chance to continue that against his former club on Wednesday night. He scored a goal and assisted another. Even though he is going to start on the right wing due to Vinícius Junior's inevitable place in the starting lineup, he will certainly be quite important in that position. Some of Leipzig's players. He is one of the best midfielders in the world, and his skills will be crucial to break down Leipzig.

Arda Guler

No matter who starts in the midfield for Real Madrid, Arda Guler's name should be the first one on the starting lineup. Guler has had one good performance after another each time he has played in midfield. He saved the best for the game against Sevilla, where he operated as a deep playmaker who had the license to roam around in the attacking third on many occasions. He was unbelievable on the night and was able to sling so many passes through Sevilla's defence.

He is more than capable of doing exactly that against Leipzig, and he deserves an opportunity to show his talent once again. At this point, he should be an automatic starter for most games, but even if he isn't, the next two games for Real Madrid need to have Guler on the team sheet, no matter what.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Leipzig are a team that love to go on the front foot and attack with a very high line. They press high up the pitch as well, which is exactly why Real Madrid need a profile like Trent Alexander-Arnold on the pitch. Trent would provide so much value to this Real Madrid team at right-back, and given that he's almost certain to not start against Barcelona on the weekend, this is his opportunity to show Mourinho that he keeps making the same mistake by not playing Trent more often.
