Real Madrid did not have the best of seasons and is now trophyless in their last two campaigns. Xabi Alonso began as their head coach before being replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa. Now, it is expected that Jose Mourinho will return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It has already been announced that a couple of Real Madrid players will depart the club when their contracts expire. Whilst there is speculation that more will follow them out of the Los Blancos door.

Dani Carvajal

Dani Carvajal got a hero's send-off as Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid in the final game of the season. The right-back even set up Gonzalo Garcia for their first goal of the 4-2 victory.

He had been with Real Madrid since 2013 and has worn their armband. Carvajal came through the ranks at Real Madrid and played for their B team before having a stint with Bayer Leverkusen.

With Real Madrid, Carvajal won the Champions League six times, La Liga four times, and the Copa del Rey twice. He is now 34 and played just 17 times in La Liga this season.

Carvajal will depart Real Madrid when his contract expires this summer. Potentially a move to MLS, the Saudi Pro League, or the Qatar Stars League could be on the cards for the defender.

David Alaba

David Alaba will also depart Real Madrid when his deal expires at the end of this season. He had a great career with Bayern Munich before joining Los Blancos in 2021.

Alaba won the Champions League twice, La Liga twice, and the Copa del Rey whilst at the Santiago Bernabeu. He is now 33, and played just 11 times for Real Madrid in the league this season. Despite this, Alaba is still a part of Austria's roster for the World Cup. He is their captain and has represented his country 112 times, scoring 15 goals.

The defender is still being linked with top clubs, including Manchester United and AC Milan. However, a transfer back to Austria with Red Bull Salzburg appears more likely right now.

Dani Ceballos

It has not been confirmed that Dani Ceballos will be leaving Real Madrid. However, there is a lot of speculation that he will depart the club after making just 16 La Liga appearances this campaign.

Ceballos is contracted to Real Madrid until 2027, but there is reportedly interest from Ajax. Ceballos has won the Champions League three times, La Liga twice, and the Copa del Rey. He would have a good chance at adding more silverware to his trophy cabinet if he were to join the Dutch champions.

The midfielder came through the ranks at Real Betis, but has spent the majority of his career with Real Madrid. He also had a loan spell at Arsenal during the 2019/20 campaign.

Other potential departures from Real Madrid include Raúl Asencio, Gonzalo García, and Fran García. All of which have lacked consistent game time this season.
