Miguel Gutierrez is one of the best left-backs in Spain. Ever since he left Real Madrid in 2022 for Girona in order to get more first-team opportunities, his career has gone in an upward spiral. He was instrumental in Girona's push for Champions League football last season, and even though they are not hitting the same heights as last season, he is still one of their very best players.
Real Madrid let Miguel go because there was no space for him in the first-team squad, but everyone knew that the talent was there. It has always been there, it just needed to be harnessed by Miguel in the right scenario.
And that has happened. Miguel is great, and he still dreams of coming back to his home club, according to Matteo Morretto of Relevo.
It has been said numerous times that although Miguel dreams of playing for Real Madrid as a first-team player, it does not just depend on him. Real Madrid also need to want him, and there are other clubs who are interested as well.
According to the journalist, Napoli are heavily interested in signing Miguel, even though the Spaniard dreams of another club.
Napoli would be a good team for Miguel, but he still dreams of Real Madrid
Napoli is a big club, there is no denying it. They are in the running for the Serie A title this year, and even though Girona have taken big leaps as a club, Napoli are still going to be a step up for Miguel if he decides to leave.
However, one thing that we need to consider is that Miguel is fully capable of playing for Real Madrid. Their left-back situation right now is not the best. Ferland Mendy is nowhere near his best, and even though Fran Garcia is promising, Miguel Gutierrez has a higher ceiling than his Spanish compatriot.
Real Madrid should definitely try and go for Miguel in the summer, especially as he would be available for them to buy for as low as eight million euros. It is nothing when compared to the kind of player they would get. He is not perfect, but he has age on his side and there is a big chance he takes a leap if he plays for a club as big as Real Madrid. However, they would need to rush as Napoli would soon come knocking.
