Real Madrid face a rather uncertain summer, and there is now talk of one of their standout players being lured away in Arda Guler. Los Blancos have had a campaign to forget despite coming into the season with excitement aplenty under the hand of Xabi Alonso.

That experiment failed all too quickly, and Alvaro Arbeloa was brought in as his replacement. But that hasn't gone too well, either, with Real Madrid falling out of the Champions League and the La Liga title race.

A lack of trophy success at Real Madrid is never deemed acceptable, so it will be interesting to see what the club does with Arbeloa this summer. And if they do move on, it will be interesting to see who comes in, with Los Blancos having struggled to deal with the departure of Carlo Ancelotti, although it is true that some key players also left the club as part of that transition.

Arsenal remain interested in Real Madrid star Arda Guler

One of the younger talents who has been carrying the club in recent times is Arda Guler, who has made an incredible 50 appearances across all competitions so far this season. In those games, he has racked up six goals and 14 assists, putting together a campaign that Arbeloa has described as a 'great achievement'.

While it's true that the 21-year-old does have some developing to do, like anyone his age, it's clear that he is seen as a key pillar for the club moving forward, given his talent and youth.

But another club is reportedly looking to throw a spanner in those works, with reports Premier League title hopefuls Arsenal are trying to lure the Turkish international to North London.

Caught Offside report that Arsenal have made contact with Guler's camp ahead of a possible move this summer, hoping to sound out whether the player would be up for the move.

The Gunners have reportedly tried to sign Guler in the past, but Real Madrid have refused to engage in serious talks. Guler is under contract until 2029, so Los Blancos need not panic, but as ever, if the player does have his head turned, things can change quickly.

Arsenal could do with signing younger players on lower fees given their huge spending over recent times, but Guler does not fit into that category, likely to cost around £90million, given how highly Real Madrid value the player.

Either way, Los Blancos should shut the door whatever the offer. Top young players like Guler only come along once in a blue moon, even for a club like Real Madrid, and much money has been wasted trying to find one.
