Real Madrid are in puruit of their preferred coach. They want to part ways with their current manager Carlo Ancelotti as soon as possible, and Xabi Alonso seems to be the one who is the next one in line to replace the Italian legend.

It is going to be a good move for all parties involved. Ancelotti, should he leave for Brazil, would get the job he has been after for a while. Alonso would get Real Madrid, the team he has been waiting for since he started coaching Leverkusen.

Real Madrid will get the man who can lead the next generation of brilliant Real Madrid teams.

Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has been aware of the interest, and has also talked about a gentlemen's agreement that he has with Alonso should he want to leave for one of his former clubs.

Xabi Alonso has to make his Real Madrid decision in the next three to four weeks

In the same interview, he talked about whether there was a deadline for Alonso to make his decision. According to Carro, Alonso has the next three to four weeks to make his decision.

He said: "If a club is interested and he is interested, we would have to talk about it, we have that relationship. Our wish is for him to continue, but we are clear that the decision has to be made in the next three or four weeks.

“I think we can speculate a lot, right now there is nothing. In the next few weeks we will know if there is a ‘tectonic’ change between the clubs.”

This is good news for Real Madrid. They would obviously want to sort everything out by the end of the season as well, and journalists like Fabrizio Romano have also talked about this decision being made in the next few weeks.

It will be good for Real Madrid to speed up the negotiating with Alonso so that they are able to get their next leader, while it will also help Leverkusen in pursuit of a potential replacement.
