Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga faces an uncertain future and could be used as part of a deal to bring a Chelsea star to the Estadio Bernabeu. The Frenchman hasn't been at his best this season and has seemingly lost Alvaro Arbeloa's trust.
Reports claim that Arbeloa has advised the board to offload Camavinga in the summer. The 23-year-old has 26 appearances across competitions, posting two goals and one assist.
Several midfielders have been linked with Madrid and that includes Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine has impressed in the Premier League this season and was previously on the club's wishlist before he joined the Blues back in early 2023.
Madrid handed boost in potential Fernandez pursuit
Fernandez has become a leader at Stamford Bridge and registered 11 goals and four assists in 38 games across competitions. He has been used in multiple midfield positions and been a key man for the west Londoners.
According to Topskills Sports UK, Madrid could look to use Camavinga as a makeweight in a potential deal to sign the 25-year-old. This would align with Arbeloa's stance over parting ways with the Frenchman this summer.
Chelsea don't want to sell Fernandez and are in a strong position given his contract doesn't expire until 2032. But the player is thought to be "strongly drawn" to the idea of heading to the Bernabeu which could work in the La Liga giants' favor.
Fernandez is one of several options for the Spanish capital club ahead of an important summer. It seems if any midfielder is to depart that will be Camavinga.
Madrid's top target isn't Chelsea's Fernandez
While Madrid clearly holds an interest in Fernandez, they are prioritising Paris Saint-Germain's Vitinha. The Portuguese midfielder is reportedly at the top of the club's wishlist although much like Fernandez, the finances involved in a possible deal are expensiv
Vitinha has starred under Luis Enrique at PSG and finished third in the Ballon d'Or race last year. He has over three years left on his contract at the Parc des Princes and doesn't appear to be pushing for a move to the Bernabeu.
Another midfielder on the club's radar is AZ Alkmaar's Kees Smit and the Dutch youngster is more attainable than Fernandez and Vitinha. The 19-year-old is likely to cost much less than the experienced duo but would be a risk if he were to be the only midfield acquistion.
