Real Madrid have been handed a boost in their potential pursuit of one of Chelsea's top stars who is shining this season. The La Liga giants will have to fork out a hefty fee but are admirers of Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez emerged as a possible Madrid target to help bolster the midfield which lacks creativity. He has registered 11 goals and four assists in 35 games across competitions.

The 25-year-old is starting to live up to the hype that saw Chelsea pay Benfica €120m for him in early 2023. His impressive form has caught the eye of Florentino Perez's transfer chiefs and his stance over a potential move is promising.

Fernandez offers himself to Madrid

Fernandez has become a leader at Stamford Bridge and scored crucial goals including a last-gasp winner in a 3-2 comeback win against West Ham United last weekend. He is a fan favorite and has over six years left on his contract.

According to Eduardo Inda of OK Diario (via Madrid Universal), Fernandez has offered himself to Madrid and he's tired of Chelsea and living in London. It's his "dream" to play for Los Blancos and he has informed the La Liga giants about this.

Fernandez was on Madrid's radar when he made the move to west London but the Spanish club weren't prepared to rival the Blues at such an astronomical fee. He had failed to live up to expectations before this season and his recent form might just have his dream club come calling in the summer.

Real Madrid's thoughts on a potential Fernandez deal

Madrid will be well aware that it would take a huge fee to bring Fernandez to the Spanish capital. But CaughtOffside reports that the club are interested in the Argentine midfielder.

It could take a fee of around €100-110m to sign the Argentina international whose box-to-box profile is liked by the club. But there is also interest from Paris Saint-Germain who feel he could anchor their next cycle.

If PSG were to move for Fernandez that could push forward a potential Vitinha exit given Madrid are also eyeing the Portuguese. Reports claim that Los Blancos are waiting for him to gesture that he wants to head to the Bernabeu before entering negotiations.
