Following back-to-back disaster seasons, Real Madrid have major plans in mind for the summer transfer window. A number of departures and new arrivals are planned to revamp the squad and get back to being the best team in the world. One player whose return that has heavily been discussed is Endrick. His loan at Lyon expires at the end of the season and the club are keeping a close eye on his progress to determine whether or not he'll return for next season. Obviously the player will also have a say in this situation and we now know what Endrick is thinking about his future.

While speaking to the media following Lyon's 4-2 win over Rennes, Endrick was asked about what the future holds for him once the season ends and the attacker gave an answer that drops major hints as to where he personally hopes his future lays. Endrick went on to say:

"Future? I don't know, I'm very happy here, I feel great. Will I stay? I'm on loan, I'm happy with my teammates, everything is going very well. If I have to stay in Madrid, I'll stay in Madrid, if I have to renew my contract here, I'll renew it here. I'd really like to stay, they're doing everything they can to make me feel comfortable. After that, you never know what might happen, we'll see. I'm leaving it all in God's hands and we'll see what happens. "

Endrick favors Lyon over Real Madrid return

Endrick has been killing it for Lyon since joining the French side on loan in January, showing Real Madrid exactly what he is capable of when given a fair opportunity. The 19-year-old has grabbed eight goals and seven assists in 19 matches, impressive numbers for someone his age and for someone who didn't play much football prior to his loan move.

The Brazilian is showing that he made the right choice to leave on loan and based on the results we're seeing it's understandable why he would prefer to stay at Lyon for another season instead of returning to the Bernabeu. The Real Madrid dressing room is a complete dumpster fire right now and leaving a place where your finding success to return to a mess like Real Madrid wouldn't make sense for his career.

Another reason it wouldn't make sense is his place in the squad. The club clearly didn't trust him enough in the past to give him gametime and even after all the progress he's made the clubs plans for him still don't make sense. It was reported last week, that upon his return the club plan to use him as a right-winger in an attacking line with Vinicius Jr on the left and Kylian Mbappe in the middle, pretty much setting Endrick up to fail by playing him out of position when he is the exact kind of target man in the middle the team needs.

It's safe to say Real Madrid fans love seeing all the success Endrick is having in France. We all knew he was an extremely talented player that just needed the proper platform to play his game and he's found that at Lyon and given all the drama at Real Madrid, coming back wouldn't make sense for him and in his best interest the club should let him stay at Lyon next season.
