Endrick benefited greatly from his loan to Olympique Lyonnais last season. Now, the Real Madrid player is being linked with another loan move to multiple clubs. However, the best option for him is surely Aston Villa.
The Spanish outlet AS has reported (translated from Spanish), "Roma and Aston Villa have expressed interest, both of which meet the conditions Endrick has set for a move."
Endrick burst onto the scene in Brazil with Palmeiras, which earned him his move to Real Madrid. However, with Los Blancos, he has failed to break into the team. He has so far scored just seven goals with one assist in 40 games for the club.
It is no surprise that the centre-forward is struggling for game time with Real Madrid. He is competing with Kylian Mbappe for a starting spot. Endrick went on loan to Lyon for the second half of the last campaign. With the Ligue 1 side, the Brazilian scored eight goals with eight assists in 21 matches.
Aston Villa need to replace big-name departures
He now needs to test himself, and the Premier League would be that challenge for him. English football's top flight is a far stronger division than Ligue 1 and Serie A. This is a reason why Endrick should favour a move to Villa rather than Roma.
Villa could also do with adding some star power to their squad. Unai Emery's side have lost Morgan Rogers, Donyell Marlen, and Youri Tielemans this summer. Signing a player of Endrick's stature would be a huge boost to Villa fans.
When Marlen departed, it left Villa with just Morgan Rogers and Tammy Abraham as senior strikers. They are 30 and 28 respectively, so Endrick, at the age of just 20, would be a fresh option for Emery. It could be more difficult for Endrick to get game time at Roma as they now have Marlen. The Italian side also has Paulo Dybala and Santiago Castro as striking options.
Endrick is naturally a centre-forward, but he can also play as a second striker or on the right wing. In fact, of his 21 games at Lyon, he played 12 as a right winger and just eight through the middle. He was more effective as a striker, as he scored five and made four assists when he played in that position.
Game time should be Endrick's priority
The Brazilian would also be an option for Villa to play off the right. He would be competing with Evann Guessand, Leon Bailey, and Alysson for a spot in the position. Roma have just MatĆas SoulĆ© as a senior right winger. However, Endrick's priority would be to play in his favoured position as a striker.
His form for Lyon earned him his place back in the Brazil squad for the World Cup. However, he failed to score in four games at the tournament this summer. He missed a great chance as his side crashed out of the competition in a defeat to Norway in the round of 16.
Carlo Ancelotti favoured playing Matheus Cunha of Manchester United ahead of Endrick at the World Cup. It is difficult to compare players playing in different divisions. However, if Endrick joins Aston Villa, then he could give Ancelotti more food for thought if he starts outperforming Cunha in the Premier League.
Endrick has also been linked with Liverpool this summer. However, that should be a non-starter as they already have Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike to come back from injury. Fenerbahce has also been mentioned as a possibility. However, going to the Turkish Super Lig would be a step backwards for the player.
