Real Madrid forward Endrick has not had the best of times at the club so far.
It is one thing to not play as much in his first season at the club, even Arda Guler, who is slowly becoming a starter, had to go through that.
However, what Endrick is going through at the moment is rougher than most moments we have seen for young, talented players at Real Madrid.
According to a report from The Athletic, Real Madrid's young forward will miss even more time after suffering a setback from his injury that kept him out of the Club World Cup.
Things go from bad to worse for Endrick at Real Madrid
Endrick is now expected to be out for several weeks, as it is the same injury that he had to go through against Sevilla in the last games of the La Liga campaign.
What makes it worse is that these injuries don't mean he just misses time. He also misses the opportunity to impress new manager Xabi Alonso in training. I mean, they will be on a few weeks' vacaation now, but Endrick would have wanted to hit the ground running as soon as he returned to the action.
Another thing worth noting is that Gonzalo Garcia, the player who essentially took his place in the Club World Cup while Kylian Mbappe was injured, has been performing out of his mind, being the top scorer in the inaugural competition as well as getting an assist, while playing brilliantly overall.
The injury to Endrick would give Garcia a tiny bit of headstart, rubbing more salt on the Brazilian's already deep wounds.
It is not good for Endrick, but the good thing is he is still only 19 years old. He is not expected to leave Real Madrid this summer, but he also wants to be important for Brazil in the 2026 Club World Cup.
Keeping all of that in mind, it would take a lot from Endrick to establish his place in the Real Madrid squad. It is not impossible, but it is very difficult and unlucky for the player.
