Vinicius Junior has been all over the news recently with uncertainty looming over his Real Madrid future. The Brazilian, who was the main man for Los Blancos up front not too long ago, has been one-upped by Kylian Mbappe, who has been in scintillating form.

Meanwhile, Vinicius has been involved in some controversial behaviour over the last few months, including an outburst in El Clasico following his substitution by Xabi Alonso, which attracted widespread criticism. Then there’s the 25-year-old’s contract situation as well, which hasn’t been sorted yet and is set to expire in 2027.

As a result, with the winter transfer window now open, fans are left wondering about Vinicius’ situation, with a number of reports linking the player away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

In fact, it was earlier suggested that Chelsea were interested in the player and were preparing a €160 million bid to secure him. Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided a major new update on this Vinicius saga.

The Italian journalist recently posted on X, revealing that the reports on Vinicius and Chelsea are completely off the mark and that there have been no talks, bids, or negotiations. The Brazilian is said to be completely focused on Real Madrid, who are currently assessing his contract situation.

Vinicius has emerged as one of the key players for Real Madrid over the years and has helped the club achieve success, including scoring in two Champions League finals.

While he hasn’t been without his mistakes, the Brazilian has certainly proven his love for the club on multiple occassions. So, it’s a relief that he intends to continue at Real Madrid.

It’s true that Vinicius hasn’t been performing at his true level for quite some time now, but on his day, he is still one of the best if not the best left wingers in the world.

Vinicius has scored five goals and provided four assists this season in all competitions. While he has shown sparks of his old self, he needs to find his best form soon to relieve some of the workload off Mbappe.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid are gearing up to take on their city rivals Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup tomorrow, and Vinicius will have a major role to play in the absence of the Frenchman, who is out with an injury. Let’s wait and see if Vini can turn things around and deliver a 10/10 performance on the night.
