Real Madrid are going to welcome Endrick back to the first team next season after he spent the last six months on loan at Lyon in Ligue 1 - the club of the great Karim Benzema. And though the Brazilian international did not spend a long time in the beautiful French city, he left a memorable mark on the club as the team's best player over the past several months with a total of 12 goal contributions in just 16 league appearances.

Endrick didn't just score goals. He was creating chances and beating defenders off the dribble, genuinely looking like one of the top five forwards in world football since his arrival at Lyon. If you look at the past months since his loan transfer, the only forward at Real Madrid who has been as good is Vinicius Junior - and he is literally second in the world behind Harry Kane in goals in 2026.

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Real Madrid have high hopes for Endrick now that he's officially back from Lyon after the end of his loan spell with the Ligue 1 giants. Fab says that Real see him as an important player next year.

Real Madrid are high on Endrick

Everything is subject to change with Jose Mourinho coming in, but after the season Endrick had with Lyon, he made it clear that he is ready for Real Madrid - and even one his old doubters, Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca, admitted as much publicly.

So in hindsight, Xabi Alonso was the wrong one for discarding Endrick so soon without giving him even a sniff of action, instead favoring Kylian Mbappe to a fault that he held back the others and, worse yet, chose Franco Mastantuono over Endrick.

Real Madrid have seen the error of Alonso's ways and are going to have Endrick in the first team next season. And if he is to be important, that means he could have a real shot at starting games on the righ wing as a much needed left footed presence.

However, if you watched Endrick closely at Lyon, you could see how much more comfortable he was as a center forward than as a right winger. So in an important role, Endrick will be able to put a maligned Kylian Mbappe under serious pressure, and with Gonzalo Garcia likely heading out in the summer, there is nobody else who would stand in the Brazilian's way.
