There is a fire in the loins of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez again, and it has been quite a few years since Madridistas have last season their beloved Presi this heated. First, he was going after the media in an impromptu press conference, and now that Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme is offering a young voice and a real public challenge to his presidency, Flo knows he needs to act.

After years of complacency and destroying a Champions League team with a bloated Kylian Mbappe signing that has backfired thus far, all the while neglecting the defense and midfield Carlo Ancelotti asked to have retooled before firing one of the greatest managers of all time, Perez is starting to realize that even he has to answer to somebody. And while Madridistas are not taking Riquelme as a serious threat, they have to admit that it would be nice to see Riquelme scare Florentino into a better summer window.

Already, it appears Florentino is going for some big signings at key positions to counter the vague promises of new superstar that Riquelme is saying he will sign to Real Madrid this year if elected the new president.

Florentino Perez is after 2 huge fish

According to a report from COPE, via the Madrid Zone, Florentino Perez is planning on three significant signings for Real Madrid. Firstly, he wants to bring back Spanish national team forward Victor Munoz from his wildly successful loan deal with Osasuna. Munoz was getting chances under Carlo Ancelotti and looking like a real diamond in the rough with his explosiveness, and he became one of La Liga's top forwards this season and could be brought back on the cheap.

But that's not a real mover and shaker. The other two signings Perez is reportedly planning on, though, would be earth shattering. Perhaps at the behest of Jose Mourinho, Florentino is apparently wanting to bring in PSG defensive midfielder Joao Neves and Inter Milan center back Alessandro Bastoni this summer; these two players are arguably the best in the world in their respective roles.

Mourinho has been all over Bastoni as a possible signing to badly upgrade Real Madrid's below average back line this summer, while Neves is arguably the best midfielder in the world right now and can do everything as an athlete, defensive player, and even a passer. And while PSG players should be too expensive and impossible to sign as a direct Champions League title rivals, Neves does have Mourinho's same agent - the super powerful Jorge Mendes.

If Perez can land all these guys, especially Bastoni and Neves, we may never hear about Enrique Riquelme again, and Real Madrid just might be back in the Champions League Final.
