Real Madrid's rebuild of sorts is going well so far, but the job is far from finished.
They have signed four good players to strengthen the squad after last season's failure, so to speak. They still need a few profiles, but they have made substantial progress in filling these gaps.
One of the players they have signed is Franco Mastantuono, a 17-year-old prodigy from Argentina, whose game is already polished and at a very high level.
He had been wanting a move to Real Madrid for a very long time, and he has finally got it. He will play for the club when he turns 18 in August.
Franco Mastantuono already shows great mental strength
He was asked about the move recently, and he said some things that Real Madrid fans would want to hear, especially after a season as bad as the one we just saw.
Mastantuono gave a really strong reply. He said: "Signing for Real Madrid moved me, it was emotional, but I don’t want this emotion to distract me from what I want to do, which is helping the team next season."
In these moments, Real Madrid need a strong character who is willing to help the team as soon as he is able to. Mastantuono seems to be just like that. He is not moved by the occasion. He just wants to do his job.
The Argentine is not at all scared of the adaptation process. He considers it a challenge, and would want to help the team as soon as he can.
"It’s a challenge. I want to go there and adapt quickly,” he says.
Mastantuono speaks like exactly the kind of mental profile Real Madrid want at the club. He is strong-willed, obviously talented and looks at hurdles as challenges to overcome.
I can't wait to see him play for Real Madrid for the first time. It is going to be special.
