Injured Real Madrid player could return against Liverpool
Much like the past few seasons, Real Madrid have been struggling with injury problems yet again. The squad has seen a number of key players suffer long-term and potentially even season-ending injuries which has thrown this season into disarray. Unsurprisingly, the results have suffered as a consequence.
So far the defence has lost both Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao to ACL injuries leaving Carlo Ancelotti with very few options to pick from. The Italian has had to improvise his selection on multiple occasions over the years due to fitness issues.
Unfortunately for Ancelotti, the situation is not getting any better and even the players he has as alternatives are also getting injured. However, luckily for the manager, one of his key defenders could be set to return from injury early, perhaps even in time to take on Liverpool.
As reported by The Athletic, the club had initially reported that Lucas Vazquez would be out for around a month. But various sources at Valdebebas have informed that the extent of the injury is not as bad as they thought and his camp says he will try to return in time for the match against Liverpool.

Vazquez has been sidelined with an injury he picked up in the first half against Osasuna earlier this month. The Spaniard was just one of the three Real Madrid players to be injured that day.
The initial fears that Vazquez would be out for around a month seem to have been misplaced. Let's see if he does indeed return in time to take on Liverpool.
The veteran has been playing in place of the injured Dani Carvajal after the club legend went down with an ACL injury. An early return for Vazquez is a light at the end of the tunnel for a Real Madrid squad already struggling with injuries this season.
