Endrick missed a great chance to give Brazil the lead against Norway in their round of 16 tie at the World Cup. Carlo Ancelotti's side went on to lose 2-1, but what is further bad news for Endrick is that the Italian will remain as Brazil's manager.

Fabrizio Romano posted on X: "Ancelotti and the Brazilian Federation already agreed to respect the contract and continue together. Ancelotti will lead the rebuilding of the Seleção ahead of World Cup and Copa América."

Endrick played in just 111 minutes at the World Cup under Ancelotti. The Real Madrid player failed to have a goal involvement. Ancelotti favors Matheus Cunha of Manchester United, who scored three goals in five games at the tournament.

Endrick is failing to live up to expectations

At just 19 years old, Endrick was not even born the last time that Brazil won the World Cup. They last won the tournament back in 2002, with the young Brazilian being born four years later.

Endrick burst onto the scene with Palmeiras, which led to a dream move to Real Madrid in 2024. Ancelotti was his manager at Los Blancos. In total, under the Italian, Endrick scored seven goals with one assist in 37 games for the Spanish side.

The Brazilian even scored against England at Wembley in the same year that he joined Los Blancos. This was one goal in three consecutive games for Brazil, with Endrick also finding the back of the net against Spain and Egypt. However, he has scored just once for his country since this run.

Where did it start to go wrong for Endrick?

Things started to go wrong for Endrick when Xabi Alonso replaced Ancelotti as Real Madrid's manager. He played just three times for Alonso last season before being sent on loan to Olympique Lyonnais. He did well for the Ligue 1 side, scoring eight goals with eight assists in 21 matches.

Endrick will now return to Real Madrid after the World Cup. However, it remains to be seen how much game time he will have under their new manager, José Mourinho. It will be difficult for Endrick to start ahead of Kylian Mbappe.

When Ancelotti was appointed Brazil's manager, it was seen as a good sign for Endrick. However, he has been used sparingly by the Italian. It is not a good sign that Ancelotti is staying on as their manager. Endrick needs to force his way into Mourinho's plans or find a new club. Otherwise, his minutes under Ancelotti for Brazil will continue to be limited.
