Real Madrid have practically signed Trent Alexander Arnold after his Liverpool contract was left not renewed and only the formal announcement remains.

And ever since the news broke out, Liverpool fans are not having it. On social media and in the community of Merseyside alike, the fans have started hating on Trent as if his decision to take a different challenge is equivalent of a crime.

The situation has been regrettable, especially as Trent has been nothing but grateful to Liverpool fans for their support.

Following the incidents, recognized Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who was previously connected with Real Madrid as well, broke his silence on the matter and expressed his displeasure with the way Trent is being treated.

"I watched the game when he came on and heard the boos. I'm older, so I thought it might be my deafness, so I turned up the volume... It took me another 10 seconds to realize and I turned off the TV. Honestly, I couldn't have been more disappointed at that moment. This isn't our thing, it's not our thing at all,”, said the former manager referring to the whistles by Liverpool fans for Trent during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

He further said: "I'm not telling them not to be disappointed or angry. I'm telling them not to forget. This club doesn't forget. Every day he gave everything for this badge... after 20 years, he decided he wanted to go somewhere else."

Jurgen Klopp's words should shut the rage after Trent's Real Madrid move

The hatred was relentless, but I'm hoping that now that one of Liverpool's greatest managers has aired his feelings, the wrath will subside.

After all, the whistles and insults were entirely uncalled for. Instead, Liverpool fans should have congratulated Trent, one of their academy's most successful products, who is leaving after winning a record league title in search of a better challenge and is simply grateful to the fans for their love.

It must be realized that ambition is not synonymous with treason. Trent will always consider Liverpool to be his first home, and his time in England will always have a special place in his heart. That is unquestionably true.

Another thing that Liverpool fans must acknowledge is that Real Madrid is regarded the pinnacle of football for a reason. Almost every player has dreamed of playing for Los Blancos at some point in their careers, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Liverpool is one of the world's most successful football clubs, both in England and in Europe, and it is probably in league with Real Madrid. Trent is simply transferring to a club that is equal to theirs, so they must be relieved. And it is no question that he will be an important player for Real Madrid.

It is hoped that Klopp's words will do some work to calm the rage that was never needed.
