Jurgen Klopp remains the favorite to become Real Madrid's next permanent manager should the club decide to part ways with Alvaro Arbeloa. The Spaniard is currently in charge on a caretaker basis and his contract is believed to run until the end of the season.

Florentino Perez has long been an admirer of Klopp and his success during a nine-year reign at Liverpool makes him one of the top candidates. He ended the Reds 30-year wait for a league title while also guiding them to Champions League glory.

Klopp has refuted suggestions he'd consider the Madrid job if it was offered to him. That stance isn't what is being reported though with claims suggesting he is open to taking charge of Los Blancos.

Should the 58-year-old arrive at the Bernabeu he will undoubtedly want to have an input in the club's transfer business. That's why two players are reportedly at risk of being offloaded if the German is appointed.

Klopp wants two Real Madrid stars sold

Several players' futures are uncertain irrespective of Klopp's potential arrival in the Spanish capital. A major rebuild is anticipated this summer and that includes outgoings aswell as signings.

According to El Nacional, Klopp feels the time is right for Madrid to sell Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo. He believes they have "already shown their best form" and "are unlikely to take another step forward."

Camavinga has encountered a topsy-turvy season but is only 23 and has years ahead of him. The French midfielder was expected to become a world beater when he arrived from AS Monaco in the summer of 2021 but he hasn't quite reached those heights.

Rodrygo experienced a summer of uncertainty last year when speculation grew over a potential exit. The Brazilian winger bounced back from a frustrating FIFA Club World Cup and has refound form in Arbeloa's attack.

Klopp's stance is believed to be because he wants to spend €200 million on two Premier League players. A reunion with Liverpool's Alexis MacAllister is suggested and the Argentine midfielder was already on Madrid's radar before talk of his former manager taking over ensued.

Cristian Romero seems to be on Los Blancos' wishlist as the club look to strengthen its defense. He is reportedly expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Camavinga could join Liverpool

When Klopp was still at Liverpool the club were linked with Camavinga including when he made the move to Madrid. The Frenchman remains on the Reds' shortlist ahead of this summer.

Reports claim that Arbeloa has told the board to consider selling Camavinga because he is "underperforming." He has made 26 appearances across competitions this season, posting two goals and one assist.

It might come as a surprise to former Atletico Madrid manager Jorge D’Alessandro if Camavinga were to be sold. The Argentine claimed back in June 2024 that he was "the best player" in Carlo Ancelotti's team that went on to win the Champions League.

It's claimed that Liverpool are "favorites" to sign the French midfielder and that a "formal offer" is already being prepared. He has three years left on his contract but might be one of the first to exit if a Klopp era begins at the Bernabeu.
